Mile High HBCU Weekend, Inc.
Board of Directors Application

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors of Mile High HBCU Weekend, Inc.

Our board plays a critical role in advancing our mission to connect HBCU alumni, expand awareness of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and support students and families in navigating HBCU education pathways across Colorado.

As part of our commitment to authentic representation and lived experience, we strive for at least 50% of our board members to be HBCU alumni. At the same time, we welcome applications from non-HBCU affiliated individuals who are aligned with our mission and can contribute valuable skills, leadership, and community connections.

This application helps us learn more about your background, interests, and capacity to engage. Prior board experience is not required. We are most interested in individuals who are committed, collaborative, and eager to support our work.

Please note:

  • Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings

  • Additional time may be required around major events and initiatives

  • This is a working board, and active participation is essential

  • Fundraising is a critical responsibility of board service. As a growing nonprofit, board members are expected to support fundraising efforts by helping identify and cultivate sponsors, partners, and donors, making warm introductions when appropriate, and serving as ambassadors for the organization’s fundraising initiatives

We appreciate your interest in supporting Mile High HBCU Weekend, Inc. and look forward to learning more about you!
