Our Mission

To celebrate and elevate the legacy of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU’s) by uniting alumni, empowering students from underrepresented communities to attend an HBCU, and building a lasting culture of Black excellence and educational equity in Colorado.

  • No! Mile High HBCU Weekend is open to everyone. If you support the mission, culture, and legacy of HBCUs, we want you there. Our events welcome students, alumni, professionals, families, and community members—you don’t have to be an HBCU graduate to celebrate and participate.

  • Our inaugural Mile High HBCU Weekend takes place August 21–24, 2025, across multiple locations in the Denver Metro area.

    • Exact locations and details will be shared as we get closer to the weekend.

  • Some events, like our HBCU College Fair and Yardfesr, are free and open to the public, while others, like the Scholarship Brunch or Networking Mixer, require ticket purchases.

    • Tickets and registration links will be available here on our website once sales open.

  • Yes! Our weekend is designed for the whole community.

    • Events like the HBCU College Fair and Yardfest are family-friendly.

    • Adult-focused events, such as the Black Professionals Networking Mixer and Scholarship Brunch, are designed for ages 21+.

  • Mile High HBCU Weekend is designed with you in mind.

    • Our HBCU College Fair will connect you directly with admissions representatives and scholarship opportunities.

    • Our events will introduce you to alumni and professionals who can mentor and guide you as you prepare for college.
