More Than a Weekend.
It's a Year-Round Movement.

What began as an annual weekend celebration of HBCU pride has grown into a community-powered platform connecting alumni, empowering students, and opening doors to higher education.
Through signature cultural events, college access resources, and community partnerships, we honor the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities while building pathways for the next generation right here in Colorado.

What is Mile High HBCU Weekend?
Mile High HBCU Weekend, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by two Howard University alumnae to bring the spirit of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to Colorado.
We host the state’s first and only HBCU weekend celebration and lead year-round programming to connect local alumni, shine a light on HBCU culture, and build real pathways for more Colorado students to attend HBCUs. Through scholarships, resources, and community connections, we’re creating a pipeline that turns legacy into opportunity.

A Weekend Full of Culture, Connection, & Community
Our inaugural 2025 weekend brought together HBCU alumni, Divine Nine organizations, Black professionals, students, and families for four unforgettable days of connection, empowerment, and culture. It was a true showcase of Black excellence in Colorado, powered by partnerships with Black-owned businesses, venues, vendors, and organizations.
